BART Director, Debora Allen’s 2024 Candidate Recommendations

“I am a woman of common sense!”

I am a wife, mother, friend, volunteer, nurse, and educator. I have served on the Clayton Planning Commission for two years, and in the last year, I served as Vice Chair of the committee and now Chair. My background is in criminal justice, banking, nursing, teaching, and healthcare administration; I will strive to bring people together to solve problems through collaboration. I am willing to step up and step out so our community can step in and unite. I am ready to address your needs and issues facing our city head-on. Let us move Clayton into the future through collaboration, diversity of ideas, and the value of respect for one another. Clayton is the sum of all its people, and more work gets done when we do it together.

About Maria

My name is Maria Shulman, and my family and I have lived in Clayton for over fifteen years. My daughter was educated at Mt. Diablo Elementary, Diablo View Middle School, and recently graduated from Clayton Valley Charter High School this past June.

We knew from the moment we visited this community that we wanted to make it our home. We appreciate the small-town charm, Clayton’s beauty and quaintness, and the “essence” of what makes life in Clayton so special.
